What is a Flexible Ride?

A Flexible Ride is a pre-defined, company-funded journey where origin and destination are fixed in advance and the rider claims the ride on demand, with no fixed pickup time, no app requirement, and no Cabify account needed.

Usage

A cabify client can create a Flexible Ride via our API, setting up the journey specifications for the ride with it, similar to when creating a Journey. Once created, a public url is generated for the Flexible Ride, that can then be shared with a guest rider.

Once the guest rider has the public url link, it can access it via web, and Claim the Flexible Ride, generating a new Journey based on the specifications on the Flexible Ride, without the need of a Cabify user or the Cabify App. Do note that in order to claim a Flexible Ride, it should be in pending status.

States

A Flexible Ride can end up in different states, which are the following:

• pending - Initial state.
• claimed - It was claimed by a user and a journey was created for it.
• failed - A non recoverable error ocurred during the claiming process (e.g overbudget).
• cancelled - It was cancelled by the owner.
• expired - After the expiration time was reached.

All states besides pending are final.
